There was a nest of baby birds making quite a ruckus in the corner soffit directly outside my recording studio room. To regain silence and resume recording, I decided to remove and transport the nest as humanely as one could, and hope the mother would acquiesce and continue tending to her babies in their new location. The melody and the lyrics "(Bird trunk) Three birds in the ground, (Bird trunk) never make a sound" came directly from a dream I had the night after I found the baby birds dead in their nest, apparently left for dead by their mother. The song is a tribute to the ghost of this experience, which haunts me still today.
