Sometimes a song writes itself. Given the rich chord changes, it would seem that this one was difficult to construct, but, in fact, melodically and musically speaking, it flowed out of me with very little resistance and in a matter of hours, and very much to my surprise. Lyrically, however, it would prove more troublesome. The message was simple: "Don't give up. I'm here for you." Writing that in an eloquently spare way so that it didn't seem redundant or melodramatic was tricky.
